Hi all (I'm new to this list),
It'd be nice if closed floats showed a little more than just "Float: Figure"
or "Float: Table". Is there an option (or the possibility of an option) to
show the title of the figure or table as well?
Mike.
Hi,
it is possible to redirect the output of a lyx function in a variable?
Background: I would like to have the words count shown in my document,
but I cannot figure out how to do this. I was just playing with the
though I could redirect the output of the function "words-count" in a
variable.
I've seen in the Beamer documentation that there is a package called
multimedia.sty.
This package can be used to embed movies and sounds in pdf documents.
There is a good presentation in the beamer manual, and they say it can
be used without beamer.
Siegfried.
Awesome! Thanks !
What about the other question? How to set the line spacing as one thing in
chapter and section titles and another thing in body text?
Alex

Hi all!
I'm using the book class (koma script) to write my thesis. For the title page I
want to swap the positions of title and subject, making the title on top of the
page, then author, and then subject. So that I can put my school, university and
degree all these stuff in the subject environment

Hello,
I would like to know how change the default list environment spacing. I
want to move the body of the text (on the right) further way from my labels
on the left. I have attached an example lyx document. Right now there is
about 1.2 inches between the text 'Item 1' and 'This is a test

They look similar, but it's not LaTeX.

Alex,
Try the \vphantom command inside the parenthesis/braces, for example:
\begin{multline*}
\left(\vphantom{\int_{a}^{b}f\left(x\right)g\left(x-x_{0}\right)dx}
\int_{a}^{b}f\left(x\right)\right.\\
\left.\vphantom{\int_{a}^{b}f\left(x\right)g\left(x-x_{0}\right)dx}g
\left(x-x_{0}\right)dx\rig
Many thanks. I wasn't aware that http://wiki.lyx.org/Layouts/AMS contains more
than the current Lyx version 1.5.2.
Cheers,
Philipp

Thanks for your reply. My question was more on the lines of how to get
bigger parenthesis/braces when I need to split the equation:
So if I want to split this:
A = ..( LONG_TERM1 + LONG_TERM2)
I would like to get:
A = ...Big( LONG_TERM1

1) What's the best way to split an long equation surrounded by
parenthesis, over several lines ?
What I've been using is unmatched parentheses (i.e. "\left ( + none" at the
beginning and "none + \right (" at the end), but this has the disadvantage
of not producing "big" parenthesis. Has anyon

I have found a good method that increases the vertical spacing of tables and
arrays. In the preamble ad:
\renewcommand\arraystretch{1.25}
Hello,
I dare to ask again, whether there is a solution using lyx?
