I do need to use it none the less. The default for i-installer (when
the newest updates are applied) is in the folder gwtex, and I don't
know what is different about that, but it doesn't see anything in
texmf.pkgs or texmf.local.

I hava a problem importing UTF-8 latex files into LyX. When I import
my files some characters are garbled: accents for the vowels and the ñ
(I am writing

problem is "although I have a class in my disc, and it can be seen in
LyX's TeX Information menu, it is not listed in Document -> Settings ->
Document Class menu".
I both tried texhash from console, and Reconfigure from LyX.
