Hello,
I am under the impression that a document class file cannot be directly
used in LyX, it must be converted into a template first. Is this the
case? If so, how do I create the template? If not, how do I use the
class file?
Thanks!

Dear All:
I meet a problem. When I include some pictures in lyx file, I want to
use relative path. It is ok when I just generate dvi files, but if I
generate pdf files, some error occurs, which informs me that the system
can not find the pictures. If I change the relative path to the absolute

Why? Do you have a good reason for that and know what these packages do?
Without inputenc, you won't be able to insert accented and oth

Hi,
i use lyx once in a while.
It seems to me that Lyx insert the following two lines by default
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage[latin1]{inputenc}
I would like not to have them, but I am unable to produce/export from
Lyx a .tex file withourt them.
Could you point out to me how to do?
Thank

Herbert,
I knew of the \addtocontents and saw the {addvspace} but did not know to
extend this to use \expandthispage nor where it should be placed.
Thanks very much,

Herbert,
Thank you very much. I looked in TLC2, in my other LaTeX books and on the
web. Couldn't find the above.

It needs to be within the ToC; do I add it to the *.toc file before the
last
item? I could not find the appropriate place in the .lyx document.

I guess you did read Herberts TOC layout page? I don't think that what you
wanted to do is easy (or possible at all) in LaTeX. Did you ask the
experts on the TeX newsgroup?
Georg,
Yes, I did read that page. At least, I read the Tips & Tricks page on the
ToC.

I am trying to customize my toolbar in Win32 version of Lyx 1.3.5
There is a version available in Wiki which looks great. I am wondering
whether there is any way to make the toolbar into two lines so that I
can add more commands into the toolbar. I tried going into the user
interface file C:/lyx/sh
I've noticed that the GnuWin32 project ported wvWare for converting Word
documents, and LyX supports it, so I thought I'd give it a try. Here are
the results.
As expected, doesn't work out of the box because wvCleanLatex that LyX
calls is a shell script (a bit useless since GnuWin32 doesn't pro
