I'm running LyX 1.3.5 (Aqua) on my Mac and I find that I can't
choose citation styles. That is, if I insert a citation, I can choose
which article to cite, but the "Citation Style" box is grayed out, so
I only can use citations of the form \cite{xyz}. I've tried a couple

Because LyX isn't LaTeX. LyX needs the layout files as an "interface" to
