more lyx newbie questions

Despite using lyx for a while I am still basically a newbie :) How should this single page have been done correctly for example? Basically I have kludged the footnote markers seriously. I didn't even particularly want footnotes but couldn't see any other way of doing the attributions. Any t

I have a work around to the problem of the Greek not cacelling back to the main language on \end{otherlanguage}. The problem does not occur if the inserted Greek text is in the quotation environment. If I'm prepared to set the Greek as a 'Quotation' for instance and set the surrounding text as

Hi, I would use short-titles for this. Though the name suggest its use for titles it also works for the captions. At the beginning of each caption do:Insert>Short Title It gives you an [opt] inset. Write the caption without references there and it will be used in the List of Figures instead

Crash with spelling

Hi, using ispell or aspell immediately crashes lyx. I'm using the recent lyx1.3.5 mandrake rpm from ftp.lyx.org. Actually this rpm seems to be built with the option pspell but I have this library located in the standard location. "locate pspell" gives: /usr/bin/pspell-config /usr/lib/libpspell.s
