Despite using lyx for a while I am still basically a newbie :)
How should this single page have been done correctly for example?

I have a work around to the problem of the Greek not
cacelling back to the main language on \end{otherlanguage}.
The problem does not occur if the inserted Greek text is in
the quotation environment. If I'm prepared to set the Greek
as a 'Quotation' for instance and set the surrounding text

Hello Rob,
Thank you for your speedy reply.
I am sorry, I do not fully understand what you mean by "Use Insert -- Short title
option".
Could you please explain it a bit more detailed?

Hi,
I would use short-titles for this. Though the name suggest its use for titles
it also works for the captions.
At the beginning of each caption do:Insert>Short Title
It gives you an [opt] inset. Write the caption without references there and it
will be used in the List of Figures instead

Hi, using ispell or aspell immediately crashes lyx. I'm using the recent
lyx1.3.5 mandrake rpm from ftp.lyx.org. Actually this rpm seems to be
built with the option pspell but I have this library located in the
standard location.
"locate pspell" gives:
/usr/bin/pspell-config
/usr/lib/libpspell.s

Thanks Angus.
I didn't know about the pre-compiled versions. As compiling takes about a day on
the old computer I now have, that may be the better route.
Thanks.

Doing everything under cygwin would be easier for me).
