Hi,
How can I add LaTeX code between the \begin{enumerate} / \begin{itemize}
and the first \item, while still using LyX's enumerate/itemize environments?
Also, how can I add a parameter to the \item command inside a an itemize
environment?

I have selected a separation skip in Layout-->Document-->Layout in a
document. However, I would like that a minipage inside the document were
not affected by that separation selection. Is that possible?

Conversion word -> latex works quite well (far better than wvClaenLaTeX) if
you use Staroffice/OpenOffice.

TeX encoding 1, has nothing to do with Type 1 or TT.
default is without any encoding package, but this does
not make sense for european writers.

automatically rotates them so that they end up lengthways rather than the

Probably TeX1 -- it is also known as ``Cork'' encoding and covers
all latin alphabets in Europe. The old encoding (7bit) is OT1.
Neither of these has anything comm

If you have the file in Word then don't go via postscript whatever you
do. http://www.tug.org/utilities/texconv/pctotex.html has some more
info that might help convert the file to latex. From there it is but a
small step to lyx... sort of.

This is going backwards, as others observed. Does word export to rtf? If I
recall correctly, Ted, abiword and ooffice read rtf. One of them should
export latex.
