Think I fixed it. The class file specified the style file and then could not
find it. Then Lyx tried to specify the style file and I dont think it liked
that at all! I commented out the line in the class file and things seem to be
working now! I debuged this from my linux machine by starting on

First, I recommend using OpenOffice to extract the images from the
presentation as it is generally better capable of

article.layout (or report.layout, whatever is more similar) to
the new one, adjust the first three lines (according to
Customization).

Your are right. I found the .lyx file I got from Unix is not DOS format.
So I used unix2dos to change it. Now, it still can't open the changed .lyx

Do you have the utility texconfig?
This makes easy setting up tex preferences, and If you have root access the
changes will be for every user.
