Do any of you have any problem with Lyx on Mandrake? It seems I am
having random package conflicts.
Is there a list of known conflicting latex packages?

That was not the problem. I tried again by removing some of the packages I
used one by one and found that the package "drftcite" is causing the problem!
This is very strange! At the same time, all my pages written with 1.16fix4 is
working perfectly.

How do I get LyX to automatically delete any backup (*.lyx~) files when I
close a document (after saving it)? I see that there's an option to not
create backup files in lyxrc but I do want to have backup files (while I'm

I am looking for a way to itemize several items within a float.
Problem:
Within a float i can select te stye itemize/enumerate to get a
bulleted/numbered list in the float. This however deselects the caption style
and causes the list to be aligned differently from the figure and caption.
