Will the QT frontend be finished in 1.2.0? (I'm stuck on a 56k modem and am
in no mood to download everything until I know for sure. :) If not, is there
a rough ball-park guess for when I can dump ugly, ugly xforms? The GUII page
shows QT tauntingly close to completion, but a month old.

go to http://www.ctan.org and search for detex. You will get a
tarball, which you can then compile (it is really very simple).

Ok, this will hopefully be the last (or next to last) prerelease
before 1.2.0 proper is released.
Since pre4 several small problems have been fixed, and a few bigger
ones, but nothing major.
There are still some small glitches, but nothing really bad. (knock wood)
This prelease can be found at

Hello,
I would like to print the letter "r(t)" with a dot in the top of the "r" (for
the usual meaning of derivative respect to time), but I can't figure out how
to do it using LyX. Is it possible? How?

I use a config file "config.tex" and put all the stuff I want in it. In the
preamble, put "\include{config}". It works!

Hi!
In the Lyx v1.1.6fix4 at input of cyrillic characters in cells of the table, they
(characters) appear not in cells, and to the left of the table.
Anything similar at input of latin characters is not observed.
How it to overcome?

there are two possible answer...
1. LaTeX is very difficult for Word users (maybe not only for W-users,
me too),
2. Word is very inc

Thank you for you
Hello everybody,
I have a table that is rotated by 90deg, and would like to rotate the
caption, too and have it appear to the right of the table (under it if
you turn the page to read the table). And since the table is just very
large, but short, I would like to put two of these tables (with the

Hello,
I use LyX 1.1.6fix4 on Linux RedHat6.2. I have problems with
writing the Latex preamble, because it doesnot accept the
Enter key. Therefore I have write it on single line or use
another editor (vim) to include the preamdle text into the
lyx file.
Is this problem caused by Lyx or xforms? An

for small space is Ok, but not for big space... for example if the
ratio of width and length < 0.75

Dear LyX-users,
could you please explain me how to omit the blank area from rotating
images? I have imported an eps/ps figure created by xmgrace. Without
rotate command, the image will be landscape... If the rotate command
activated, lyx1.2 add a blank area. Let's see the following scheme:

The spellchecker tells the word count after it's finished. But I don't know
if it includes captions etc., try it.
Hello all,
I have started writing my PhD thesis with LyX, and now that I really use
it, I have encontered a few problems. I'd like to know if there are some
possible workarounds known (I haven't found in the archive, and bugzilla
is not obious to query)
My config is Mandrake 8.2 i586, but I act
