I have copied exam.cls (from CTAN) to my /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/lyx directory, run texhash and Lyx reconfigure, restart and the new class does not appear in the Documents:Class field. What next? I'm not sure how to set up a new .sty or .layout file -- Laurie Savage Earth Science @ Orange
