Hello again!
I am trying to include EPS graphics in my document, and as soon as the
graphic is more than 50% of the page height, it is put on a separate
page. Is there any way of allowing the picture to be bigger, without it
being put on a float-page? I tried the following in the preamble

Hello everyone!
I am investigating LyX as a possible replacement to my former desktop
publishing software (die, Microsoft, die!) (ahem) It has many nifty
features that I like, besides the principle of WYSIWYM is terribly
appealing. I have never used LaTeX, but with LyX you don't have to

Good question. I *think* there was one, but it's already that long
ago that I wrote it. But probably many of the layout files have that
problem. You think we

There is also a poem.sty file at CTAN

a "LaTeX Tips and Tricks" book, I think. You got me curious enough to

There is, of course, the "verse" format available in the default article
class, but I thought someone might have something with nice

The \tag{} command doesn't work inside eqnarray, but

Hi,
Is there any way to make Lyx treat single quotes
like it does double quotes? That is, make it have an open single quote and
then a close single quote? I'm interested in the possibility of typing
dialogue such as
Tom Blinked and said,
"Then he said, 'so she said, "Go to Hell, M

Hi :)
In my LyX document, I need a math symbol that means "equals, by
definition", which should look like a normal equals (=) sign, with
"def" in small letters above the upper bar.
Is there a built-in symbol that looks like this, or does anyone know of a
suitable macro?
Thanks for the help!
