I am using LyX 1.1.6fix1 in both windows and linux. When I create a table in
lyx/windows I am unable to open it correctly in lyx/linux - the table
appears empty and all the lyx source code for the table appears outside the
table. I have seen some postings to this list regarding this problem but no
Looking at the apa.cls documentation, it clains to have a \caption

Anyone know what is the real story?
Anyone know what the 'Right Way' to do a caption is in apa.cls?

Hello,
I'm trying to format a formula of the form:
{ y if y > 0
x = {
{ z + y otherwise
(see bottom p. 47 of Leslie Lamport's Latex book (2nd ed).)
Although I can manage to insert an \mbox in math mode, I can't
put any (normal) spaces in it. I have tried othe
I use lyx 1.1.6fix1 for *WINDOWS*, with cygwin1.1.8.
As suggested, I upgraded both cygwin and lyx. All seems to work
right, except for DVI preview: YAP (dvi viewer) shows this message
:"c:/cygwin/tmp/lyx_tmpdir[...]/lyx_tmpbuf[...]/a4.dvi Cannot open
DVI document".

\bind "C-x c""word-capitalize"
\bind "C-x l""word-lowcase"
\bind "C-x u""word-upcase"
\bind "M-u" "word-upcase"
to ~/.lyx/bind/emacs.bind, find the line in that

Thank you for your response, but I need a little clarification. (I am not
a programmer, so excuse the dumb question.)
When I made a new file titled "~/.lyx/bind/emacs.bind" -- I typed in
literally the same characters as you have listed below. After I wrote the
file and reconfigured LyX, I closed

Are there any shortcuts to change case of letters/words (similar to

I've added the following to ~/.lyx/bind/emacs.bind:
# [EMAIL PROTECTED], 2 Sep 1998
\bind "C-x c""word-capitalize"
\bind "C-x l"
Are there any shortcuts to change case of letters/words (similar to
emacs M-c, M-l, M-u, etc.)?

Dear colleagues,
I have to type a thesis in which a part is written with greek letters. I do
this by marking the passage and applying
layouts -> character -> language: greek to it.
The document looks fine after the greek text, but the TOC, LOA and LOT are in
greek letters. Any other solutions
