Hi,
I've updated LyX (on RedHat 7 machine) from LyX 1.5.2 to 1.6n (latest
version) but upon starting LyX the help file (I have the splash window
turned off) says that the version is still 1.5.2. Yet RPM indicates
(rpm -Uhv etc) that LyX 1.6.n is installed when I run it (the last time

Hi,
I still have a pentium III with redhat 7.0, I have installed the rpms
from a web site appearing in the list :
xforms-0.88-15
and
lyx-1.1.6-1
Two things are strange.
First, nothing appears in import and export menus.
Second, I use a french setting, I think, as the menus are translated,
and al

Thank you very much for the very detailed instructions. The LyX

It works, thanks to you, and I attached a gzipped example (I suppose this

Yes, the hyphenation tables use tex memory (they are not lodaed on
demand, but everytime).

Thank you very much! It works now. (didn't yet try pdflatex though).
Now I just wonder why it isn't enabled by default. Maybe to save some TeX
hard space limits?

I'm using full install of IT Linux 2000, which is for practical matters
equal to Red Hat 6.2. (it has same packages). It has the package "tetex

The problem is that finnish hyphenation doesn't work at all. Many words
don't get hyphenated at all and the rest are usually hyphena

This month's Linux User magazine just arrived on my doorstep, in it was a
pretty complementary article about LyX :)
It is online at http://www.linuxuser.co.uk/ - but January's edition doesn't
appear to be online yet. Watch that space.

I guess this is LaTeX question, but I'm very novice with TeX and LyX user
anyway, so here it goes...
How can I put two abstracts in a document, one in English and one in
Finnish?
