I do not see why people cannot use the rpm compiled on a 6.2 system.
Better than switching to texmac or whatever.

Ok, I found the problem; probably conflicting fonts; I removed drakfont
from /etc/X11/fs/config and it worked.
Sorry about that; I whould have thought of it before.

Hello,
I recently installed lyx-1.1.5fix1 on my Mandrake 7.1 machine using the
rpm provided on the lyx home page.
Some of the math symbols do not show on the lyx window; the integral and
the sum (I did not try them all) don't show for sure.
Any idea of what could be wrong?
Thanks,
Benoit Pelle

Thanks Yann Collete and Michael Hanke, that worked perfectly. You learn

Personally, I'd unstick myself with it and go back to 6.2! We planned
on testing 7.0 here but after 3 days of using it, it became so painful we
gave up in hopes that 7.1 will be ou
As noted in this list last week, RH7 is distributed with a bogus

If you are stuck with RH7, what do you do?

How can I make inferences like :
B C

A D

There exists a "proof.sty" package with a "\infer{}{}" command, but if
A,B,C,D,E are big math formulaes, I can't use "\infer{}{}" in math mode
: it doesn't hold on a single lyx line (screen isn't wide enough :)). Is

Hello,
The thing to do is to tune the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment
variable. It tells where to find library fills.
under csh:
setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH ~/myapps/lib:~/mypass/X11R6/lib:$PATH
under bash
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=~/myapps/lib:~/myapps/X11R^/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PAPTH
your sincerely,

I am on a shared Redhat 6.2 machine and I do not have root privilages to
it (nor am I likely to get them)
I tried installing xforms and lyx from RPM setting the prefix to my home
folder and all seemed to go well until I tried to run it could not find
the xforms shared library, this was not surpri
