Dear listmembers,
I see that I was starting a holy war about ideas how one should
write text. This was not intended. But I want to still give
few key-points about productive writing. (And these are _my_
opinions, I'm not trying to babtize anybody to my beliefs).

The time for MacOS X is closing up, and i wonder if anyone have
succesfully compiled and installed LyX on MacOS X Beta?
Regards Gunnar Andersson
For a new installation, LyX/LaTeX/TeX takes a while to generate fonts
for printing and display. Make sure there is no font generation activity
before concluding that nothing is happening.

I've recently installed RedHat 7. I'm having a great deal of trouble with
the compilation of lyx-1.1.5fix1. ./configure runs without complaint but,
when I try to compile, it crashes and burns. Here's the relevant error
messages:
g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../../src -I../../images -I./../ -isys
No difference. It is a new installation of both Linux and Lyx, and I tried
reinstalling everything but it didn't help. I am just about to install the
latest release of Lyx.
Tom.

I have problems viewing dvi files on a new installation of Lyx (v.
1.1.4fix1) running on Suse 6.4. Lyx runs fine, but nothing happens when I
try to view dvi files. When I try to export as dvi it exports as tex.
Initially I thought is was a problem with printing as this doesn't work
either. I

They need to know LaTeX. LyX is not a LaTeX replacement, IMHO.
