Yes, I tried both. One showed nothing, the other kind of worked after I
had an extension of tex.
Can you show us exactly what you do and what you get? I do

You should look to what gs is linked to there is a gs.noX11 and a gs.X11

I suppose that you define the device in .lyx/lyxrc. Have a look

Hi,
I need to get some not numbered section (e.g. Preface) in the headers of
the document (class: article). At the moment I get the previous
section's name ( i.e. Index) in the headers and not the current
not-numbered one (i.e. Preface).
How can I solve that?
