Thanks a lot for the info. But unfortunately (?) I didn't work with the rpms. I basically run ./configure, make, make install Everything runs smoothly... xforms and libXpm are installed. My guess is that this as something to do with the spawning of the associated viewers. I've noticed that ghostv

I had exactly the same behaviour with Lyx 1.0.1. My system is RedHat 5.2. I finally found rpm's of xforms and lyx made for RedHat. So i uninstalled earlier rpm's taken from some Suse-distribution or something and installed these new ones. For un/installation i used glint. I haven't had any problem

I've compiled and installed the latest version 1.0.2 on a linux box 5.1 RH, it seems to work fine when I press view dvi (File-View_dvi) or view postscript, it invokes latex, bibtex, etc. Now when I start editing the document I cannot see these changes on dvi! somehow lyx does not update the temp
