LyX: LyX Version 2.3.6.2 (7 January 2021)
Mac OS: 12.6.1 (21G217)
Problem:
1. I was using “Advanced Find and Replace”.
2. I inserted §.
3. “Advanced Find and Replace” worked OK.
4. I then attempted to add 7 so that I would be searching for §7.
5. My remote keyboard seemed dead, despite a 12
No; so far, I cannot reproduce it at all.
PS: Note that your system is replacing my double quotation marks with ???
