THe problem is a caption in a top paragraph. In top paragraphs the
inset_owner is not set on reading and so it crashes.

It is safely testable. :-)

Configure it to add the version
number to the program name as a suffix, that way
the "lyx1.4cvs" binary doesn't overwrite your
good old "lyx" binary.

sideways tables/figures for the stable tree. it's not perfect yet but it
seems to be working for me.
