Yes,
you are right. It is not stricly necessary to intall everything (which
then needs emacs). I just found a readme which explains how to generate
it from the preview.dtx in the distribution.
On the other hand, this needs additional steps. I also think other SuSE
users are as spoiled and as

Compile?
I never compiled preview-latex IIRC.
I just have
/usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/preview/
prauctex.cfg
prauctex.def
preview.sty

Hello SuSE LyX-ers
I uploaded an rpm for SuSE 8.1 compiled with the qt frontend against
qt3. This file will hopefully soon be available in the bin directory of
ftp.lyx.org/pub/lyx/. For the impatient, you can also get it from
http://nf-pro.sckcen.be/download/lyx-1.3.0-1.i386.SuSE-8.1-KDE3.1-qt3

| It's related to glibc as well it seems. A minimal patch is bug 874.

There appears to be a '3.2' in the path...

Anyway,
Hi,
I already tried with a prerelease version of 1.3, but even with the
official release, the compilation fails when trying to link all the
objects to get lyx. A large number of references are not found:
