I've compiled lyx-1.1.1pre2 on my RedHat 6 PC.
That went all fine.
Two questions:
1) The configure says that /usr/local is the
default prefix, but the default seems to be
something else, I believe /usr.
2) The locale doesn't work. I've set LANG

I have released the second prerelease for lyx-1.1.1, now most
installation issues have been resolved and we have a new feature:
- export as HTML
Other than that there are no new features compared to 1.0.4, code
cleanup is in progress and so far we have:
- migrated to useing automake in
