ouch, have you tried 3.0.4 or 3.1cvs ? Are the gcc team aware of this
regression ? Broken in what way ?

... here's the replacement :-
Compiling Lyx with gcc under IRIX
Versions:
IRIX: 6.5.x
gcc:2.95.3 (3.0.3 gives a broken lyx)
