And according to Ulrike Fischer dinbrief is not compatible with current
LaTeX anyway.

if you open a template for any of the above-mentioned letter classes,
the paragraph labels are not displayed!

I just uploaded a new version of the
Letter (dinbrief)
layout to http://wiki.lyx.org/Layouts/Dinbrief and wonder whether there is a
chance that this could go into the main distribution.
