After building LyX, while testing it, I found that I had to modify
a script to have execute permissions:
chmod a+x .../lib/configure
where ... is the root of the LyX distribution tree.
Also, I would LOVE to know how to reduce disk usage after building
LyX. My guess would be "make clean", but
