ok, I got the answer right after sending the email, sorry.
But FYI importing tex with such a table will ignore the "||".

Hi,
opening the tabular dialog box with the row/column tab gives you
two meanings of "alt-c": either this means Haligment center, or
close. That should be non-ambiguous.

this is meant as a bug report, hopefully the correct address.
Otherwise I'm sorry.
1) Lyx crashes then first opening e.g. HELP/FAQ, then pressing
on Menu TOC
2) Resizing the window has some optical problems, I did not
see them in 1.1.5fix1...
