e Octave 3.8 on my machine, Linux Mint 17, with LyX 2.1.2. I can
confirm that I am able to do perform operations of type 1, but not type 2.
I have never tried to use Octave within LyX before, so I cannot comment on
whether or not this is a regression.
I hope this helps.

I'm not the one to respond to your mentor request, but I thought I'd
respond to your email anyway. Hopefully you'
Hi Alex,
I am subscribed to this list, but not yet involved much in LyX development.
Most (almost all) here are much more knowledgeable and experienced than me,

Opinions are cheap, so I guess I'll offer mine.

I really appreciate that you guys are thinking about this, and giving
feedback on the module/layout I worked on. It is my opinion that we always
need to be able to provide sensible defaults that work right out of the
box. Technically, apacite does not need to be loaded to use apa6. You can

This is good to hear. I
Great. Thanks. I hope to be able to continue to contribute, even if it's
just a little bit now and then.

Regarding an inquiry by Richard, I am happy to have any contributions I
make be included in LyX. Thus,
I hereby authorize my contributions to LyX to be licensed under GPL version

I vote:
Oxygen
That said, I think the entire view/update toolbar could use some work,
particularly with Oxygen icon set. I like the other icons on oxygen better,
by enough I'll go with it. If I had my choice, I'd use oxygen for everything
but that view/update toolbar. It's probably not that easy
