Hi,
I was looking for a way to number equations by chapter, and was
surprised that it apparently can't be done just using the document settings
GUI (unlike numbering by section). Luckily just replacing section by
chapter in eqs-within-section.module yielded a module file that does the
job. I have

The information on https://wiki.lyx.org/Windows/Compilation, which I found
via google, is not up to date. I could not get Lyx to compile with those
instructions, but I eventually found up-to-date instruction which work in
the file "INSTALL.Win32" in the git repo. It would probably be a good id
