Would there be interest in having written (translation: me writing) a patch to
add some or all of the following functionality:
I'd like to abstract math-mode function names away from their current position
of being hard-coded, so that if one must type something
become default, merely an alternate choice.
That would definitely be a more elegant solution now that I think about it.

I'd be interesting in having added (or adding myself) a feature to LyX.
It would be neat if there were a user-configurable way to reassign
shortcuts. For example, I type "\pmatrix" a lot, and would like to
assign a shortcut like "\Pm" or something. It would be nice if I could
just edit a user
