Works here, on Sonoma both Intel and Silicon, and Monterey (12.7.2).
I would propose:
rm ~/Library/Application\ Support/LyX-2.4
the double click on the LyX icon in /Applications, wait until it is
finished. Quit normally and then double click on a .lyx file.
