the decision to retain the BibTeX file but leave people free to choose the

I have always downloaded LyX for Mac from lyx.org but I’m thinking of trying to
install from macports.org. LyX there seems to be well-maintained. I wonder if
there would be any issues given that I have used the lyx.org version
