To reproduce the problem I'm experiencing with LyX 2.1git, do the following:
1. Export the English Additional.lyx manual to LyX 2.0 format.
2. Open the file created in step 1.
With configuration A [1], LyX crashes with the following output:
$ lyx Additional.lyx
