In LyX 1.1.6pre3, selection using Shift+arrows doesn't work -- when
holding Shift and pressing an arrow key, nothing happens (the cursor
doesn't move).
Using RPM from ftp://ftp.sylvan.com/pub/lyx/, on a Linux box vaguely
based on RedHat 7.0. Happens using either XFree 4.0.1 or X-Win32 5.1

I usually set the keyboard to an American layout and use Compose for the
umlauts. Within LyX I do use a German key map when writing German but I
guess I could live without this feature quite happily.
