For some reason when I change the useragent in the options menu it will not
save to .lynxrc.
There is a "file cann't be found" error message.
I'm using lynx in mac terminal and .lynxrc is in my home directory.
So I can add it manually, what is the exact form as it is saved in .lynxrc?
This is an old error message produced when saving some messages I have seen
for years. While saying something might be lost I have yet to see any loss
of information in hundreds of examples after hitting "y" to continue.
Is there any solution?

I know control g will cancel many goto and/or link requests. But when I get a

As a blind lynx user it was very frustrating to see day before yesterday the
google news page no longr works.
The actual page appears as before. But selecting any article returnes the same
very short google landing page absent the article.
There is just one mention of "java" under the hood so
A while back there was a thread about getting that error message with wikipedia.
It didn't happen with me at the time but has done so recently, including some
other sites.

This is an option toggle menu item. By default it is on.
Some web sites which otherwise deny entrance; will sometimes allow it if this
is offf. I have found none which deny entrance if it is off.
It is offf only for the current session. I have searched for either a lynx.cfg
or startup opti
Perhaps it could be a toggle like tag-soup is with control + v.
As one encounters various web sites, the easy to hand toggle would serve when
denial is encountered.

Your best bet would be to set an alias with all commandline optionss desired,
including the start url.
This alias could be put in a local to your account .bashrc or .bash_profile, or

Some days ago youtube started requireing a google login when none was needed
previously. Even when done the screen is blank. Looking at the
url for that page it says it is a "passive login".
If I fudge the useragent I get a page saying this browserr is no longer
supported and to update.

I tried to start lynx without the cfg file, just added url after it. I got
this error message:
SSL error:certificate has expired-Continue? (n)
If hitting "y" it proceeds to the url. There a search field is used and the
message appears once more, a "y" proceeds to the expected search

Regarding pdf attachments in gmail. In google search results some time ago pdf
files were also present in a converted to text format As a

any way. I have a second shell acount at a local university
and I have a lynx.cfg in my home directory without any problems. It is a
duplicate of the one on my home system so I don't have to remember
two lynx set

What os does shellworld use? Many have port repositories which allow easy
installation of lynx, some even have a binary already build so
local building is not required or minimal. I assume the owner knows of this

The cmd_log and cmd_scripts options allow recording at startup either a series
of key commands or playing them back respectively at startup.
I use this method to play a different series of commands by stipulating which
cmd_scripts file to play at startup to perform different
functions.
