Hello Nio,
I'm sure I have replied you, in a civil style, as my wise friend Phill
suggested to do. I have done that before and I will re-do it again but I
hope I don't really have to re-reply yet another time :D

Yes it is very important that people be encouraged to take advantage of
this lead time before work starts on 14.04 LTS.
This lead time will 1) hel
Hello,
I installed Lubuntu on some old computers and liked it so much I am using
now on all my family’s computers, including brand new ones.
Even on a new computer, I want my computer’s resources (and electricity) to
be used on the programs I am actually using, rather than the GUI Shell
which I o
Hi Zeth,
You have some very interesting points in your letter. Thanks for sharing
tips and ideas :-)
I have answers and comments only to a few of them, I'm sure other people
with know about the other points.
Best regards
Nio

I will give my opinion about some:
3. In a fresh install, when you put a DVD in, nothing happens - no media
player. When you open GNOME Mplayer, and ask it to play a DVD, it moans
about finding nothing at /dev/dvd/ (probably because the system has mounted
the DVD under /media).
I then installed V

I'm a Linux user/admin for more years than I care to remember however
if the name Yggdrasil means anything to you you'll understand. I run a
lot of older hardware and have needed to de-commission some as various
distributions became bigger and bigger. It was therefore refreshing to
find Lubuntu

If you look at the Alternate installation disc image, pressing F4 will
give you the option to "Install a command-line system" which will give

Hi,
I use lubuntu (I prefer and test the alternate iso) as you state, it is a
great base for running virtual machines on and that is what i do for
testing. It may be of interest to others that as part of the quality
classroom sessions, we are covering various methods of using the different
virtual
I also use lubuntu to virtualize... a system with low consumption and
stable is ideal for that! But I guess people who knows about those things
will realise that somehow, I guess there is no need to spend some effort
for that specifically...
Maybe a wiki page with use cases? real ones?

Hi,
I've just had chance to look at the cdimage page for lubuntu (the alpha 1's
of 13.10 which passed have just been released). There is mention of
'server' stuff under the heading for alternate images [1]
We can mirror those comments on the 'GetLubuntu' page. (Jason ? :) )
Regards,
Phill.
