It's been a real thorn in my side and it's dramatically slowed my ability to
properly test the iso images.

You are right Ioannis,
Actually the first time I tried, the message is shown. This is my result

I just checked Beta 2 in a virtual machine. The message did not appear
in console 7, the first time I checked. It appeared the second time I
switched to it though.
About the bug report, I think the Lubuntu people in here will help you
with it. Perhaps it is Upstart's bug.

Hi Ioannis,
Maybe I did not understand your instruction, but this version of raring

It only states

I have seen this bug for some time.
After installation, when shutdown pauses, switch to console 7 to see
the message "Press Enter", and there, press Enter.
I hope this helps.

Hi Ali
I don't understand your problem making install USB drives. Please explain!
I've done some testing of the lubuntu raring beta2 desktop 32-bit iso
(and reported it to the qa tracker).
I have made a CD with k3b, a live USB cloned with dd, and
live/persistent live USB drives with usb-creator-
You are reading my mind, as always and I like it :D
Yes, I'll now create a LiveUSB using the 'dd' method and try to install it.
I DO wish it will work this time :(
I will sure keep you and everyone posted. When you are back, poke me on
Failbook and I will be there ;)
Thanks!

Ali,
the last update I saw was that alternate worked, and you were going to try
the dd method with desktop? I'm just off out with my parents for a meal,
but will be back on-line later. Can you post up how you fared with desktop.
Regards,
Phill.

Hi,
I didn't get an reply from you guys for two days now :D I hope everyone is
busy with testing ;)
Ok, thanks to Phill who advised to go for the alternate image instead of
the desktop one (i386 for both) and indeed, the alternate image
installation is DONE successfully from the first time :D
