Default kernel of Lubuntu 16.04 is 4.4. If you are booting to 4.1, that might be the old 15.10 kernel... I suppose you can delete the kernel files to "force" the 4.4 kernel to boot... This is only a guess,.. You might also be able to test if it works by changing the kernel filename... Another gues

Hi folks! Returning to the list after 5y away. :-) I just updated Lubuntu on my RasPi 3 from 15.10 to 16.04. Mostly it has gone very smoothly, and glxgears performance has gone from ~20fps to ~90fps, a very gratifying increase. When I ran rpi-update on 15.10, I got kernel 4.4. This survived the u
