If you install hplip then this is the hp printing system, it a gui
tool to look at printer status, ink levels etc

I have an Lenovo keyboard, ctrl-alt are in the bottom left, fn key
is in the top right and then there is f1-f12,
lets just say it is interesting doing ctrl-alt-f1, it is doable just

If you boot up and work with out the external hard disk, does the same
issue crop up after an hour, i guess by removing the external hdd from
the equation then you can narrow down if that is the cause.

If I do ctrl-alt-f2 i get a console, if I try and get back to the
running xsession with ctrl-alt-f7 it fails, but if I use f8 it works,
when did this change and why ? I am sure it used to be on F7.

Since reinstalling lubuntu 12.10 dropbox no longer functions
I have it installed and it does show up in the task bar but I can't
right click and share a file , Nautilus dropbox integration is
installed but as lubuntu doesn't use nautilus this is probably not needed.

just tried to install alacarte in order to edit the menu, lubuntu 12.10
fairly new install, below seems to be the list of dependancies,
including unity stuff
given lubuntu is meant to be a low memory / diskspace distribution the
number of addiitonal packages required to simply edit the menus
disk,
maybe I should name my
newly installed system Tardis :D
One of the reasons I want to re-install I can just bring over to the
main system what |I use most often and store everything else externally.
