fwiw I also enabled the session menu in lightdm, selected lubuntu and logged in and it's still using LXDE. Just in case somebody wants to verify this too, the way I'm telling that I'm in a LXDE session is because of this: .cache/lxsession/LXDE/run.log which reads: ** Message: environement.vala:

Hi, on my old desktops lxsession is started as "/usr/bin/lxsession -s Lubuntu -e LXDE" so that the Lubuntu profile is used. However on a more recent installation I get this: /usr/bin/lxsession -s LXDE -e LXDE I've been looking all over the place, but I can't find how/where the profile/session pa

Dear all, I'm using lubuntu 16.4 and while on SSD I never even noticed this, now that I installed on a slower spinning drive I realized the boot splash screen (plymouth?) is not working. I see a black screen with one line saying that /dev/sda1 is clean and then all the services with [OK] etc - or
