On Lubuntu 16.04, I have installed network-manager-pptp.
I then, from the Network Manager applet, click
VPN Connections, then Configure VPN, then Add, but there are no VPN
options in the Choose a Connection Type dropdown.
Any suggestions?

If you want clear images and better performance you must install Guest
Additions when using VirtualBox.

What? No it doesn't. It provides an emulated 2D/3D card; you choose
the settings.
Install the Guest Accessories and the desktop will resize on the fly
when you resize the window.

I use Qemu and Matromu for machines virtualisation, and both Lubuntu
16.04 and 16.04.1 Live ISOs run perfectly with any graphic option:

I popped a USB stick into a EVO d530 and booted.
i picked try Lubuntu without installing and then the phone rang... And i
also made a cup of tea. And totally forgot about the machine. Then when
I came back and sat down, all of a sudden i see boot messages and the
desktop loads...

have formatted the partition first before installing. But it also seems
like the live USB had something to do with the installation problem as
well. (I created another live USB using the latest 16.04.1).
