Hi folks! Returning to the list after 5y away. :-) I just updated Lubuntu on my RasPi 3 from 15.10 to 16.04. Mostly it has gone very smoothly, and glxgears performance has gone from ~20fps to ~90fps, a very gratifying increase. When I ran rpi-update on 15.10, I got kernel 4.4. This survived the u

Greetings, The difference between restarting after a regular software update and a release update is that the latter usually requires a restart just to be safe. For example, 14.04 -> 16.04 is two years of software updates. Open source software really evolves in that timespan. So if it is just a
