i have not tried fcitx but have had good luck with scim. in any case, ibus
devs seem to be non-responsive, so anything other than ibus will be great.

My experience with Fcitex is better than with iBus. This one keeps being
buggy with some apps. When I had to use foreign (CJK) characters Fcitex
worked better. Ubuntu Kylin is using it by default.

Maybe we can have some QA testers do some benchmarks side-by-side(in VMs)
and see, first of all, what is preferred, and second of all, what is faster
running with the same circumstances.
I myself am open to the idea.
