You might need to remove the legacy installer, and then possibly
re-install the newer installer.
I guess the other installer won't do anything as it's simply for different
hardware, you could uninstall or leave it, if there could be conflicts I
think the other installer would mention them vor simply overwrite stuff,
but likely it just would "coexist" :)

Ah, right, that's what I was wondering . . . so if I run

"firmware-b43-legacy-installer" command that I already ran? I got confused

Thanks for that, but right, it's all about "cost/benefit" ratio . . . I've
been through this wifi thing a number of times but ubuntu sort of made me
"lazy" as it and LM both offer the "additional drivers" option, and
budda-bing . . . wifi was installed. Even thinking that in my previous

Added "radeon.agpmode=-1" to the append line . . . as "video=ofonly" was
***already there***?? But, that didn't seem to be "recognized" until I
added it in second window, i.e., "Linux video=ofonly radeon.agpmode=-1"???
The freezing problem remained when I just used "radeon.agpmode=-1" . . .
sudo nano /etc/yaboot.conf
add these to the append=”” lines and save changes to the file, after that
sudo ybin -v
and after a reboot it all should stick :)

Forwarding this: top posted comment: Boris R. has been giving me some
pointers towards getting 14.04 PPC into more use-able state on my G4 iBook
. . . seems to have made a difference using "Linux video=ofonly
radeon.agpmode=-1" at the second Yaboot window . . . now I would wonder
how to make that
