Well, I just completed a Disk Cleanup and that removed over 1 Gb of files. Tjen I reran the Shrink Volume process. This time it allowed C to shrink down to 113 Gb. Hallelujah, I'm almost there! I'm going to another defrag/clean up, then try again. If nothing gives this time, I'll probably just lea

I regard the Windows imaging tool as broken for the purpose of burning to DVD. I think it worked in early versions of Windows 7, but then they broke it in a later version. By the time they included the Win 7 tool in Win 8 (!!), DVD support was clearly broken, or I forget, not even presented

Jerry, I have always preferred to err on the side of caution by 1) leaving Windows on there (I paid for it and it's handy to update bios and independently test of hardware issues) and 2) using Windows disk manager to shrink the volume. It can take an hour or two longer to work through the process
