I decided to file a bug and link to the wiki page.
If everyone who is listening to this thread could please mark it as
affecting them. I added it against the ubuntu-themes package as I

I guess it depends on the how bios wouldn't allow it, or if it 'is
allowed' but does not work for some reason.
It is easy to try, so do it and let us know the result :-)

Yes I can. I would take advantage of the portability of the Ubuntu
family systems, connect the internal drive to another computer and
install the operating system. It will work after you reconnect the
internal drive

help booting from a USB device, that will not boot from the computer's
own boot menu.
