Yes, I think most of us prefer using CD/DVD/USB, but as stated "I suspect some old CD drives aren't really up to it. I know the one in this machine is somewhat erratic" In such cases (and the computer has USB but cannot boot directly from it) Plop and floppy can be the solution. Best regards Nio
