As far as I know the gnome-disk-utility is a good diagnosis tool for SMART and other data around harddrives. It also warns you whenever you make a destructive move. I don't get your Problem Ali. I thought you tested out zram and I explained how it technicaly worked. If the unamed Community you are working together with still does not see the benefit then they maybe don't know what you are talking about and simply don't understand the technical background.

I will take a look at it. Normally only the zram-config package should be the reason. But also the Kernel might ship an newer/older Version or it was removed even from it.

I have to say again it is not an good option to set vm.swappiness to 0. Lowering it from the 60 to 25 is the one thing I would recommend. vm.vfs_cache_pressure setting to 50 means more ram is used for caching. So contraproductive you want more free RAM. I would recommend this setting to 100 (basica

You can force chromium to run as a single process with the commandline --single-process . This can save tons of ram when using many tabs but I am afraid I experienced some drawbacks on some sites. About the size of zram. Lubuntu and the zram-config package in ubuntu uses half of the physical memory. At least this is a more sane setting then setting it to use all available RAM. And of course you are right swappiness=0 does not mean it waits until ram is full to swap out. Swappiness is only a
