It is intended to upgrade to a new version when it is released. As 12.10 was
released, 12.04 became outdated, because it wasn't a LTS. Now, 12.10 is also
outdated because 13.04 is there.
And LXLE is an LTS because the creator says, he provides the updates for
packages like PCManFM. The rest is

We could go back to LXDM, but at least in 12.04 it had heavy bugs. That would
save some megabytes (if it works again). Lubuntu would even work without a
display manager, but it would boot to a terminal and the user would have to
start X on his own. Not very cool, I think.

I'm testing LXDE with Wayland at the moment. Of course, Openbox is not a
wayland compositor and is replaced with Weston. There are some problems, but it
doesn't explode.
Not until yet. :-)

As far as I know, openbox itself hasn't the Aero snap feature. This feature is
part of Opensnap which isn't in the repositories.

If you need any translations into german for this project, feel free to ask as
it is my native language.

I am not sure about machines with 4+ GB RAM. If that much memory is full, then
the cpu core(s) is/are busy for sure: maybe transcoding a video or a game where
the AI needs to be computed and the cpu should call as much frame as possible.
In such situations where the cpu is busy it shouldn't need
Well, Phill, to be honest I am a bit shocked. I really hope you are fine and
it's not a health issue or something like that.
I send you my best wishes!

Nio, can you look if LightDM failed at boot? Simply press Escape to hide the

I am thinking for weeks about hosting a PPA with recent non-PAE kernels at
Launchpad. For the machines that really don't are capable. What are your
thoughts to this?

Just for the records: we aren't sure if a non-pae kernel will be helpful - but
as we want to support older pc's, it could be worth trying.
It is perfectly fine if you start polls in the non-german boards. I will roll
out a kernel for testing later this day.

The most recent kernel from Saucy, just changing from PAE to non-PAE. It should
be compatible with all versions, and I'll host it at Launchpad. So it won't be
compiled by myself.

I could ask for testers in the german Ubuntu forums, if Lubuntu is too low on
manpower for Trusty Tahr and the future.

You could try
sh -c 'amixer -c 1 -q sset Master toggle && amixer -c 1 -q sset Speaker unmute
&& amixer -c 1 -q sset Headphone unmute'

Hello everyone!
I had a short discussion with some members in the german Ubuntu forum
ubuntuusers.de about the sessions in a Lubuntu install that are not working.
I'm speaking about the sessions:
* LX Games
* Lubuntu Netbook
* Lubuntu Nexus7
* QLubuntu
I think the first 3 are simply outdat
