The alternates have been pulled.
Nio / Walter / Julien. Do we release with over size for 14.04.3 and say
it needs DVD / USB or no release at all?
I'm minded to allow 14.04.3 out with the proviso it is solely dvd / usb
based and people needing CD can use an earlier version and simply update.
It's too bad we haven't heard from Julien as my bet is that this is easily
fixed. That being said, assuming we don't, it best that we do release
rather than not release at all, so I vote for the DVD/USB only.

For anyone that wants to help track this down I'm working on it at
#ubuntu-release. The last commit to our seed is what caused the problem:
https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~lubuntu-dev/ubuntu-seeds/lubuntu.trusty/revision/296
Unfortunately, the problem is not obvious.

I've got multiple PPC machines that I'm willing to donate to folks that are
interested in testing with them, including a PowerMac G5. First come, first
serve. Send me an email if you want them!

+1
It is best that we do release rather than not release at all, so I vote
for the DVD/USB only.
I can mark the bugs grey.
Best regards

I recently started doing QA for Lubuntu, and I have noticed that not
many people(none at this point in time for that matter) do the package
QA testing. I took to the #lubuntu-devel IRC and wxl suggested that I
send this email.
There is a lack of individuals working on QA package testing for

I marked it as ready, so we're good. Melodie also pointed out we could
always suggest people do 800MB CDs. You may be able to overburn it but the
amd64 is 27MB over so I'm thinking not.
Going forward, we may want to look at removing extra languages from the

I agree this is an important thing that should be done. I know that Brendan
has done this stuff, so he would be a good person to connect with. If
anyone else wants to pick up on this, it would be most appreciated!!!

If you are short in space, do not hesitate to remove langpack to reduce the
size. It's the best short term option. They should be ordered by popcon on
the seed.
I'm still curious to know how a point release can suddenly be oversize ...

Is there a list, or can you make a list with packages and sizes. It
would make it possible to select in a more informed way which packages
to remove to get within CD size.
My native language is Swedish. I would not be happy if it is removed,
but I realize that it is a small language, so I accept i
Well, I already marked it as ready since this is release day. I'm not sure
we have enough time, honestly.
Apparently the change from lts-utopic to lts-vivid must have added on a
bunch of kernel updates. That's my best guess, at least.

The kernel of each new version gets bigger, and I guess the hardware
drivers too. This can push the size over the CD threshold ...
