While installing from the desktop / Live CD, various panels are
displayed advertising Lubuntu capabilities and software. There is a
panel entitled "Abiword and Gnumeric" which mentions Abiword, Gnumeric
and Xpad. The Supported software is LibreOffice and Tomboy Notes.

Libreoffice, and I think Tomboy too, are optional installs. You would have to
install them yourself.
In this case I think "supported" means, yes they will work, but you will have
to install them.
