If someone can put this on a wiki page somewhere, I'd be happy to link
to it in the release notes. ;)

Hi Julien,
as some of the ISO's do creep up to oversized, can we keep alternate CD
sized and allow desk top to have language packs etc? I know it has been a
struggle to keep the ISO's at CD size. Would this not take some of the
burden off you?

Phill.

Hi,
I have burned a 700MB CD with the oversized ISO using the -overburn option. I
booted the
CD with Virtualbox and even started the installer : it works.
The command line used:
$ wodim -v -overburn utopic-desktop-i386.iso
(-v is for verbose.)
I don't know if xfburn which is the default in Lu
So we have an encryption testcase in Alternate, but not in Desktop.
Neither does any other flavor except Kubuntu. Do you guys see any
problems adding it?

Unfortunately, no :-( My fix needed an upload + a respin, which I
didn't plan. We have to stick with this size for i386.
Next time, if you see this type of oversize during your testing,
please send me a mail as soon as possible, so I have time to fix it
properly.

Primarily in QA we have focused on ISO testing and bug
reporting/confirming. This is a great thing and I'm so grateful for
what each and every one of you do.
I want to point out that we can do more as a team. Once there is a bug
reported and confirmed, it needs to be validated (including looking

Re-spins should be done by the time I'm done with this message. Make
sure to use 20141022.1 here:

There were some last minute changes meant to be in 20141022 that
didn't make it, but everything should be done now.

I decided to remove it from 14.10 for several reasons:
1. We didn't get enough testing until the end of the cycle. I

Well it looks like we're rebuilding again. 20141022 should have been
the one, but now it looks like 20141022.

A world respin has just completed, fixing this LVM bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1362333
None of us reported this despite this related bug:

I kind of wonder if it fixes both but I would guess not.

First, I would think it's best not to include QA stuff on the Lubuntu list.
There are a fair number of users there best described as novices. They
probably shudder in fear at the potential implications of your message. ;-)
If you're trying to evangelize for QA, cool, but please write for your
